Art Fields SC Festival

I’m honored to have been awarded a mini grant to bring my Southern Hospitality mural to life at the ArtFields SC Festival this April in Lake City.

This larger-than-life mural celebrates the beauty and symbolism of peaches and muscadine grapes—fruits deeply rooted in South Carolina’s agricultural legacy and cultural identity. Radiant peaches and cascading clusters of muscadines unfold across the wall, inviting viewers to pause, connect, and feel a sense of pride in place.

Creating this piece was an absolute joy. I’m incredibly grateful for the time I spent getting to know the Lake City community, as well as meeting visitors and fellow artists from across the Southeast during the festival.

Peaches evoke warmth, vitality, and generosity, while muscadine grapes—native to the region—symbolize resilience, longevity, and heritage. Together, they reflect the spirit of Southern hospitality and tell a story of abundance shaped by land, care, and tradition.

Rendered in my signature realistic yet idealistic style, the mural features luminous color, layered texture, and light-filled surfaces that bring energy and movement to the composition. Designed to be welcoming and accessible to viewers of all ages, it transforms familiar fruit into a vibrant emblem of Lake City’s identity—honoring its roots while looking confidently toward the future.

Norcross Public Arts Commission

City of Norcross, Georgia, Public Arts Commission

I am honored and very excited to have been appointed to Board Member of the Norcross Public Arts Commission. The mission of NPAC is to cultivate a growing, creative arts community and to promote continuous growth and development of our neighboring cultural resources. I will be serving a two year term.

I am interested in serving on the Norcross Public Art Commission because I believe public art plays a vital role in shaping how a community feels, connects, and sees itself. Having spent much of my career creating large-scale public artworks across the Southeast, I have seen firsthand how thoughtful, well-supported public art can transform shared spaces into places of pride, curiosity, & belonging. I would value the opportunity to support a public art program that is inclusive, artist-centered, and responsive to the Norcross community.

I bring nearly 20 years of professional experience as a working artist in both gallery and public art contexts. I’ve completed large-scale public art projects for cities & organizations across the Southeastern US, giving me a strong understanding of the public art process. My BA in Studio Art & Art History, along with my experience collaborating with municipalities and arts administrators, allows me to evaluate projects thoughtfully while balancing artistic quality, feasibility, and public impact. As someone whose work is represented internationally and included in educational curricula, I value transparency, equity, and clear communication in public art programs—and I would work to uphold those values while serving the Norcross community.

It was wonderful to paint a new mural for the Burnin’ Bridges Mural Jam at 4300 Oakland Avenue in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Once I found out Tennessee’s state fruit was the tomato, I knew I had to create HEIRLOOM TOMATO MEDLEY I.
